Normative influence is at its full force here i guess...hmmm even non drinkers may just drink in order not to be ridiculed by friends...The dissonance reduction may have been used to convince themselves that drinking is cool by saying it makes them look cool...When the drink kicks in then alcohol myopia occurs thus reducing ones cognitive ability thus making them susceptible to hostile aggression…Andre’

Yeah, peer pressure is definitely the greatest reason why many people start drinking in clubs. I've got personal experiences of having others continually press me to drink even after rejecting them many times and have seen countless people squatting on the floor outside the clubs retching their insides out. Guess it is really pretty difficult to withstand peer pressure as most people are afraid to appear uncool in front of their friends who think that drinking is the 'coolest' thing to do on earth.

Control is indeed something quite crucial in our lives. A lack of it would most definitely cause a mess one way or another. However, one cannot deny that self-control can sometimes be undermined by social pressures. At the end of the day, it's all about social desirability. No one wants to be ostracized. Of course this is not saying that drinking till your body explodes is a good thing. I guess we just have to step back and consider if conforming is worth it. It's really all about willpower huh? =p

Money is not everything, but you can't do without money. Cliche it might sound, but speaking from my own experience, it's true. Students nowadays are laden with debts even before they are officially out working. They socialise more often than before and focus more often on material wants more than needs. When the money from parents are not enough to fulfill the basic needs, they resort to working part time.
Given a choice, I'd want to work only I've finish studying but based on the fact of that "money not enough", life is never good to you.
Contradicting it may sound, we study for a better future, for a better paying career. But the studies often landed us with tonnes of debts to be cleared with the better salary we hope to be rewarded with.

Being one of those who had to slog like hell to earn enough for myself, I'd love to be able to finish studying then work really. It is a torture to have to juggle studies, work and play, especially during the peak period where exams and assignments pile sky high. But well, working is a good way to make us appreciate our free time and also gain experience about the working world, which is an entirely different from planet mugging like crazy.

actually, sometimes i secretly wish there was a uniform that we could wear to clubs. those who wanna wear less/ pick up to go to "pick up exclusive" joints of course. its just such a hassle to continuously turn your wardrobe upside down to find something "half decent" to wear. haha.

if u dress to be un-noticed, then u're boring. if u dress up to much, then u're the topic of goss. uniforms will ensure that we can shake that ass and be happy. no NEED to impress whatsoever. just dance and be happy.

ok, wishful thinking. but really, as much as i love clubbing, half the time u hear me whinging "i wish i was a guy, i just hv to wear jeans and a tee/shirt, and i'm ready to rock". bugger that.
